Free transport in 2026

Based on a Conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the projects of free public railway transport for children, primary and secondary school pupils, full-time students, pensioners, and persons aged 65 and over will continue.

From 1 January 2026, free public railway transport within the Republic of Croatia will also be available to persons with disabilities who hold a National/European Disability Card marked as eligible for train travel.

From 30 December 2020, residents affected by the earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County are entitled to free transport with a ticket valid in 2nd class on regular trains on all routes in domestic traffic. The right to free transport applies until 30 June 2026.

From 1 January to 31 December 2026, the listed categories of passengers will be entitled to free transport based on a HŽ Passenger Transport smart card with an annual pass recorded on it, valid in 2nd class on regular trains on all routes throughout the Republic of Croatia. The price of the profile/annual pass for the entire year is EUR 2.65.
