Because of its long and rich history, as well as its numerous religious and cultural diversities, Sarajevo is often called the “Jerusalem of Europe.”
Located in the heart of Bosnia, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina lies along the banks of the Miljacka River and is surrounded by the mountains Jahorina, Jelašnica, Trebević, and Igman. In the new millennium, Sarajevo ranks high on the list of popular tourist destinations.
