Getting to Croatia is easy and if you decide to hop on a train and travel with a view, here you will find all the information you need.

Hungary

Travel from Budapest to Zagreb by train (from € 9), from Budapest to Rijeka from € 29 or from Budapest to Split from € 29!

The offer Budapest Spezial is valid for journeys to Hungary as well. A ticket for the Zagreb – Budapest route costs € 29.

Take advantage of 30% off one-way tickets and 60% off round-trip tickets on all routes from Croatia to Hungary.

Discount is valid for one person or a group of up to 29 persons. If you are travelling with a child, the child pays half price.

If you are travelling in a group of over 29 persons, you are entitled to 65% off. In that case, the child pays full price.

A daily low-fare night trains from Budapest to the Croatian seashore might be just the beginning of your wonderful holiday! You can save hotel costs if you spend your night in our sleeping cars.

Start your vacation by leaving Budapest in the evening and arrive next morning on your destination just near to the main public transport hubs in Rijeka or Split. Two SEA←YOU night trains depart daily:

SEA←YOU “Istria” train runs via Ljubljana with direct coaches to Opatija and Rijeka (connection to Pula) at 20:30 from Budapest Déli pályaudvar railway station (Metro line M2) and stops at Kelenföld railway station (Metro line M4) between 23 June and 25 August.

SEA←YOU “Adria” train runs via Zagreb to Split at 18:15 from Budapest Keleti pályaudvar railway station (Metro 2 and 4) and stops at Kelenföld railway station (Metro 4) between 16 June and 8 September.

Italy

If you are travelling to Croatia from Italy, you can use daily connection from Trieste to Zagreb via Ljubljana. Shuttle bus service runs from Trieste to Ljubljana where it connects with the railway lines going directly from Ljubljana to Zagreb.

Trieste – Ljubljana – Zagreb from €18

  • Trieste 12:55pm – Ljubljana 2:35pm (bus) / B 211 2:45pm – Zagreb GK 5:10pm (train)

Children aged 6 to 12 pay half price. Children under the age of 6 travel free.

Slovenia

If you are travelling to Croatia from Slovenia, you can hop in one of the several direct trains going to Zagreb, but during the season, you can also visit the coast and travel to Rijeka or Pula. However, it is not only Ljubljana; you can also travel to Croatia from Maribor and Celje.
